The scooter spun round and Clive motored away.

The changing room slowly came back to life. But it wasn’t happy and chatty like before. There were murmurs and mumbles. A few sobs. Many contestants packed up their things and left. Dee the dumpling kitty shared her cakes with them all as they left the tent, trying to cheer them up.

Lucky felt her heart drop. She was sad for all of the contestants who had decided they weren’t good enough because of what Clive had said. And she was also a little worried that she, Lucky the lunacorn, had got it all wrong. Perhaps it wasn’t enough to just be you after all.

She wondered if she should go, too.

But it was too late. The cupcake band had started up again and the tootle horns were blowing. The Cuteness Competition was about to begin!
